Oxford English Dictionary

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is generally regarded as the most authoritative and comprehensive dictionary of English.  In addition to present-day meanings, pronunciation, and etymology, it traces the evolution of English word use over the last 1500 years through 3 million quotations from a wide range of sources.
