Social Psychologist to join the Department in August

The Department of Psychology would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest faculty member. Jordan Troisi, who completed his doctoral work at University of Buffalo, The State University of New York in 2012, has been a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Widener University since fall 2011. His appointment expands psychology to seven tenure-track positions.

Two psychology professors assist with Don’t Meth With Us presentation for area fifth-graders

The Rotary program “Don’t Meth With Us” was created in consultation with Sewanee faculty members Jessica Siegel and Karen Yu. Along with psychology major Jessica Deimler they are helping to assess the impact of the presentation.

Siegel named Kennedy Fellow

Jessica Anne Siegel has been awarded the James D. Kennedy III Endowed Faculty Fellowship for 2013–2016 . . . announced during the College’s Commencement ceremonies on May 12.

Yu promoted to Full Professor of Psychology

Karen Pao-Ying Yu was promoted to Professor of Psychology by the University’s Board of Regents at its June 2013 meeting, according to a report released to the College Faculty by Vice-Chancellor John McCardell on September 2. Regent action was the final step in a procedure that began early in the Fall Term 2012.
